Directions for coming to an outpatient appointment or for an arranged admission at RHC Glasgow

The main entrance to the children’s hospital is on Hospital Boulevard which can be accessed from Hardgate Road or Renfrew Road.

There is a bus stop immediately outside the entrance.

By Public Transport 

Use the Traveline Scotland journey planner. The hospital is on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus.

By Car 

Please note that there is limited parking available. 

There are on site multi-storey car parks and ground level spaces for patients and visitors. The closest car-park to the Children’s Hospital is Car parking is P1 (car-park 1) which is accessed via Hardgate Road.

Car-parking on site is free, however, for most day visitors there is a four-hour maximum stay between Monday to Friday 7.30am till 4.00pm. If your child is likely to be in hospital for longer, a 24-hour pass can be issued either from the RHC reception desk or from your Ward nurses station. Once you’ve received your car-parking pass, please display this in your vehicle.

Disabled parking spaces are available on the ground floor of the multi-storey car parks and on upper levels close to the pedestrian exits. Please ensure you display your blue badge correctly if using the disabled parking spaces. There is no maximum stay for a vehicle with a blue badge.

Electric charging points are available throughout the campus including both P1 and P2 car-parks, on all levels.

There are several drop-off points on site. Please see the campus map (below) for parking and drop off locations.

Cycling / Walking

The hospital can be reached on foot from Cardonald train station (1.2 miles) and Govan Subway station (1.5 miles). 

There are shared access routes to and within the Hospital campus, and cycle hire facilities are available on site at Arrival Square as well as designated visitor cycle parking. Cyclists are encouraged to use the shared access paths in a considerate manner.

Directions for the Paediatric Emergency Department

If you are coming to the Emergency Department follow ' Emergency Department' signs. 

The Children's Emergency Department is next door to the Adult Emergency Department. The entrance is on Langlands Drive, accessed from Hardgate Road.

Car Park 3 is the closest to the Emergency Department and the location of this is marked on the Campus Map below.

There is a patient drop off area in front of the Emergency Department.

NOTE:There is NO access to the Emergency Department from the Main Entrance to the Children's Hospital in Arrivals Square. You MUST enter from the Langlands Drive entrance.

Directions for the Neonatal Unit

The Neonatal Unit is on the first floor of the Maternity building above the labour ward.

The main entrance to the Maternity building is on the Langlands Drive side of the QEUH campus (see map below), but you can also access the Neonatal Unit from within RHC by using a link corridor on the first floor.

Car Parking

The main Patient and Visitor car park areas are in two multi storey car parks and a large surface level car park, identified on site as P1, P2 and P3. 

P1  is the multi storey car park nearest to the Children's Hospital main entrance. The whole of this car park is for Patients and Visitors use only and you can access it via Hardgate Road.

Follow the signs for P2 and P3 via the former main entrance on Govan Road.

P2 is a multi-storey car park with the ground and first floors designated for Patient and Visitors.

P3 is a surface level car park for Patient and Visitors only.  This is opposite the entrance to the Children's Emergency Department so is the closest car park when coming to ED.

For patients with limited mobility there are drop off points around the campus.
